AstraZeneca just announced that it was altering its prescription medicine assistance program to grant assistance more readily to particular patients. The company’s plan offers free of charge prescription drugs or low-cost drugs to uninsured, low-income people. AstraZeneca said in a statement that it “would immediately extend assistance to qualifying patients who have lost their jobs, had their incomes reduced or had a change in marital status or family size”. Qualifying individuals can at this point register by providing documentation of their present income and household size, AstraZeneca said.
