How to Find a Good Article Writer
Posted by admin on 09/11/06 in Writing
Why is it so hard to find a really good writer who will whip up an engaging, informative article in no time flat?
First-time clients frequently under-estimate the time and talent required to transform their ideas into polished works that shine. Because we learn from our first days in school how to place words on a page, writing - like talking - hardly seems to be worth all the fuss the ‘professionals’ make.
What is so difficult to understand is that there is a vast difference between writing and writing well. What is hard to grasp is that the trick lies not in jotting down the words themselves, but rather in finding the elusive order in which those words must come.
Professional writers are like plumbers and electricians, except for the wiring and the water: They provide an essential service that takes years of schooling to acquire. The best writers are those who will take on your project as if it were their own, loving and nurturing it until both of you are finally satisfied.
A Creative copywriter is a wordsmith. His/her function is to give form and substance to intangible concepts and ideas. The goal is to provide the client with a finished product whose innate ‘readability’ sets a standard in communications excellence that directly impacts the client’s bottom line.
A Ghostwriter performs three functions. He (she) acts as a collaborative researcher, a creative writer and a virtual ventriloquist. His function is to take ideas and raw material and transform them into finished works that resonate in the client’s own unique ‘voice’.
Eloquence is in the eye of the beholder. Finding a writer who delivers a message that speaks to you is a uniquely subjective experience. What works for one person may not work for you and your search for the one with mot juste appeal can take you in and out of Google’s many doors and corridors.
The bottom line in this pursuit, as in all things, is to know what you want before you go looking for answers. Your wordsmith shapes the words to reflect your ideas and meet your needs. The inspiration must come from you.
